Passion for the sea

In 2021, the Permare shipyard was commissioned to study and design a 68-meter superyacht,
which led to the birth of the Amer Steel division.

Two other significant projects have been launched in the following years.

The new line will be launched by the AM70 in 2026. The second, the Amer Steel 41, designed by architect De Basto and equipped with an innovative propulsion system, which represents a world record, will be launched in 2025. Finally, the third project in the Amer Steel range, the AM499, will be launched in 2026, as is the AM70.

To replicate the long experience accumulated with Amer yachts, a line specialized in construction with composite materials, the shipyard has organized a highly specialized supply chain.

This has allowed the creation of a team of skilled craftsmen and the selection of first quality materials, with the aim of making durable and timeless products, with a family footprint that enhances human capital.

The beginning of this journey is marked by two important collaborations. The first is with the studio Optima Design, by Antonio Luxardo and Michele Zignego, for the work lines and engineering needs’ management of the Amer Steel models, offering a range of customized projects from 60 to 80 meters, which will be realized in the Navicelli area (Pisa – Italy), where the shipyard has recently acquired a new production area currently under construction. The second collaboration is of an international nature with the De Basto’s study, for the realization of the custom project Amer Steel 41, demonstrating the willingness of the yard to one-off tailored collaborations.

The choice of metal constructions is not taken randomly. This choice is due to the conservative refitting carried out in the past in the Ligurian shipyards, in collaboration with Permare, and the need to satisfy the customer request, which will thus have the opportunity to grow within the shipyard, from composite materials to metal.

The shipyard’s production is destined for 90% export to European and extra-EU markets, excluding the United States, which could represent a future market of development, since other three geographical areas are showing an increasing interest in high quality products made in Italy.
